UGANDA: GULU REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL HAS BEEN HITS BY SHORTAGES OF HYPERTENSION DRUGS, THOUSANDS OF PATENTS ARE IN AGONY.

Dr. James Elima, the Hospital Director says if there is no drugs for High Blood Pressure, patients should sell their goat or chicken to buy drugs. “President Museveni always moved to the village telling people to raise income generation is not for fan.”  

 GULU-UGANDA: On Thursday May, 2, 2019 Zerolina Anyap 76 years old, from Owak village, Agonga Parish in Bwongatira in Gulu District. Despite her old age, challenge nature when she wake up at 5.00 AM and headed to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital in charge of high blood pressure drugs.

Anyap says for a month Gulu Hospital has run out of hypotension drugs, this make her to buy drugs from the clinic in Gulu Town at expensive price

“Yesterday May 1^st, someone good Samaritan told me that the new consignment of drug has been delivery in Gulu Hospital. The reason why she has to rust early at dawn. He or she who suffering for Diarrhea open her door by herself,   with High Blood Pressure you have to take some things.” Anyap narrated her nightmare when she was taking breakfast outside the hospital.  

Dr. Elima the Hospital Director when contacted for comment advise the Oyeng-Yeng News reporter that instead of writing for the drugs shortages of High Blood Pressure in Gulu Hospital. Instead he should write about Acholi youths who has been engaged in heavyly drinking of scakcats waragi.

“You don’t know that in 10 to 20 years to come all the livers of people in Acholi Sub Region will not be there, due to heavy drinking of “waragi” alcoholic. They will not even get new livers, because it very expensive, it cost UGX 800 million to buy new liver.” Dr. Elima arrogantly said.

David Obina one of the patient for Hypotension, just dismisses the comment of  Dr. Elima, says all human being they are candidates for High Blood Pressure too,  including the  Hospital Director Dr. Elima.

  There are a number of types and classes of drugs available for the management and treatment of high blood pressure, Uganda line ministry of Health and should have not dilly dial.

Hypotension drugs like Enalapril (Vasotec), Captopril (Capoten), and Lisinopril (Zestril and Prinivil). While for Low blood pressure drugs like Fatique, Headache increased blood potassium levels in digestion and Diarrhea.

According record from Gulu Hospital medical story, is show that there are over 10,000 patients of high blood pressure in Acholi Sub Region, Gulu Regional Referral Hospital being regional hub for the eight Districts, including West Nile, Lango Sub Region, and South Sudan. The shortages for High Blood pressure should have been by gone.
