Few chiefdoms turned up to grace Acholi traditional festival, that includes Ker Kwaro Bolo Pakena and Bolo Lamac due to influenced from Richard Todwong and Lt. General Charles Otema Awany and Dr. Okech Yolum, a London based son. the three currently will influence in Bolo, Awere and Lunyiri Sub Counties, Pader District.

Dozens of chiefs from across Acholi Sub Region out of 57 chiefdoms grace ill-fitted Acholi Traditional Festivity, the three days festival that took place from Thursday December 12-14, 2024, at Kaunda ground, Gulu City. Emeritus Lawirwodi of Acholi, Rwot David Onen Acana in his closing remarks admitted that there has been a few turns up, but next time in year 2025. the festival will attract more people.
“I am sorry that many people did not turn up, next year 2025, we shall make sure that all Acholi community turns up to celebrate Acholi Traditional festival. this happened because there are some detractors who though they can sabotage this traditional festival” Rwot David Onen Acana II admitted.
He furthermore divulged that the calling of Acholi Traditional Festival in year 2024, first was done in year 2018, which attracted tenth thousands of Acholi from within, sons and daughters from diaspora, the second Acholi traditional festival was done in 2019, the traditional festivity was shifted to Kitgum Municipality Bomaha Ground. however, in 2020, 202, 2022, and 2023. the Acholi festival was disrupted by COVID-19.
“My message to you, please go back and farm you land, it very ashamed when five trailers of tracks enrooted to Juba City of South Sudan passes here through Gulu City with merchandise, but none of communities from Acholi Sub Region is not part of the goods. Let us plant perennial crops like Coffees, Avocados, Cocoa and Academia although you can plant millets Maize and Sorghum.” emeritus Rwot Daivd Oene Acana explored
The ill-fitted Acholi traditional festival attracted 10 delegates of Jalou community from Kisumu City Lou land, Kenya, Rwot Yosamu Odur, Lango Awii Tong, and Rwot of Lugwabara among others.
Rowt Yusamo Odur, Lango Awii Tong applauded Emeritus Rwot David Acana who played roles to unite the Rwodi of Lango and Lugwabara. who were part of dignitaries.
The paramount chief of Lugwabara Yuma Amuku in his summon said this his fourth visits to Acholi Sub Region, mainly because many of his subjects they are many living in Gulu City and Acholi sub region.
“I am very happy to be here in Gulu to witnessed and be part of Lugwabara who live in Acholi, here today I have not seen any youths who are drunkard. But, in Arua there are so many liquors some of them is called Bishop, and those ligure 70 percents are Ethanol, and there are so many types of those waragi. in the past we used to drink Lacoyi and Kwete local made drink” Amuku warns.
Dr. Kenneth Omona is the only Minister present during the Acholi traditional Gala and Bety Aol Ocan, Gulu City Women MP. However, the function was boycotted all the 26 Acholi Parliamentary Groups, all the sons and daughters of Acholi from diaspora non was present apart from Ojok Acii from Canada.
Robert Adonga-kulu, the Spokesperson for elect Acholi Paramount Chief Rwot Richard Santo Apire in an interview at his home In Pace Acoyo 5-kilometer East of Gulu City outskirt one on one says he was not surprised to see Rwot David Onen Acana, emeritus Acholi paramount chief flopped.
“We have told emeritus Rwot Acana that he should not raise funds in the name of Acholi Traditional festival Gala for his personal benefit. He should be ashamed when only dozens of Chiefdoms turned up.” Adong-kulu reiterated.
