UGANDA: GULU HIGH COURT BAN CLERIC ON THOMUS OKWEE LAND.
Were Okwee Tom and Achen Malyam families facing Awere Church of Uganda on land conflict aftermath of Northern Uganda conflict?
GULU-UGNDA: There were big celebrations at suburb of Awere Primary School on Tuesday May 21st 2019 following court Verdict of Gulu High Court.
Imoran Isaac Kintu Chief Magistrate says the disputed land does not belong to the defendant, and also slapped Awere church cleric with total ban.
His worship kintu magistrate grade one Gulu, it was on the 21ST 2019 has dismissed the count of the defendant Northern Uganda Diocese with cost.
In his ruling Justice Kintu says the defendant is to vacate position to the plaintiff immediately, and put permanent injunction is issues against defendant and their agents, employees. Servants and successors from further trespass or dealing with said land.
Court also awarded general damages of UGX 10 million to the plaintiff cost of suit and the counter plain he awarded to the plaintiff.
Mr. Cannon Latim verse Northern Uganda Diocese, and early on in March Gulu High Court Chief Magistrate Kintu ruled that Northern Uganda Diocese should evacuate the land of Ms. Grace Acellam immediately.
This has put to an end the squabble between Awere Church of Uganda and the community around the church.
