GULU-UGANDA: The group of 10 delegation from Apaa village, led by Sylvester Odoki Local Council 1, from Acoli Ber village wrote open letter to President Museveni. The open letter was ended to the office of Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, Principal Private Secretary Office of the Deputy Speaker received the letter.
Odoki who appeared with the delegation during the press conference in Gulu, Northern Uganda Media Club, says the group of 13 difference villages of Apaa Sub County wanted to meet President Museveni face to face and discuss the controversy of degazettement of 861 square kilometer of the degazetted land for the Game Wildlife Reserve.
He argued that the 10 people delegation of Apaa team they have presented 3347 household who signed the petition bellow.
“We have been denied to meet President Museveni and we doubt if our petition letter would reach him”, Odoki decries.

REF: PETITION OF APAA TO REGARDING DEGAZETTEMENT OF ANCESTRAL LAND APRIL 2019.
“We who have signed bellow petition to the cabinet of Uganda the entire area of Apaa commencing from Juka River, and extending south. So that we may live permanently undisturbed in our ancestral land in peace.
Turning Apaa into a Wildlife Reserve to attract investors took place while our people were in International Displacement Camps (IDP).
By signing, we pledge that we will not accept any amount of compensation offered”
Odoki furthermore says on 14 to 16, April, 2019. The Groups of Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) combed and registered about 320 household in five villages in Apaa forcefully. The said 320 household to not present the total numbers of household in Apaa Sub County.
He revealed that during UPDF forceful exercise they registering Apaa household by force, when men fleas away, for fear of victimization says in some homes the UPDF got only children and few women who they grabbed 70 of the national identification cards. Whom they later collected and recorded.
“People of Apaa especially men fear the UPDF, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Police Forces, that is why when we shows them coming, we took off.” Odoki argued.
The area which is registered by UPDF are in Arii village, Luru village, Puono-dyang village, Akee village and Oyobi village. The area has oil and gas and Uranium belt.
Former Uganda Army who took part in the 1970s guerrilla war, the group that rooted former Uganda dictator President Amin in 1979. Intimated to Oyeng-yeng Publications that Acholi land will never be taken by the so Museveni’s presumed UPDF occupational forces.
“You don’t know the Acholi people very well, you means to say that President Museveni forces is going to managed to grabs our land. That can’t happens under the sun, Kampala regime they are making suicide attempt.
We know that there are some politicians, the like of the turned coat like Disaster minister Hilary Onek Obaloker, Foreign Affairs minister, Oryem Okello and others. The two sons of the soil has sold us very cheaply.
“They have turn themselves to a mere land agents, what happened to the land from Atyiak, Palabek and Lukung. The places is now desolated been grabbed by Sabugabo, now they are to Putika and Agoro areas. We are washing them very closely. It’s a matter of popcorn. Then the land argent and land sellers including land buyers will vacate Acholi Sub Region.
